Day Trip St. Jacobs

Just over an hours drive from Toronto, St. Jacobs offers visitors a glimpse into rural life. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, the area is known and its charm and rich cultural heritage.

Visitors typically come for the famous St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market, the largest year round farmers’ market in Canada where they can purchase fresh locally-sourced produce and artisanal crafts but there is a host of other attractions all within a few kilometres – including trail rides with Conostoga Horseback Adventures, Central Waterloo’s hop on/hop off heritage train and Drayton’s Country Playhouse.

The town’s Mennonite heritage adds to its distinctive character where sightings of horse-drawn carriages, maple syrup farms and hand made quilts all act as reminders of a simpler, bygone era.  Additionally, there are several antique stores, two craft breweries and a variety of unique boutique shops making St. Jacobs an ideal spot for a leisurely day trip or weekend getaway.

There’s much more to do and see in St. Jacobs!
