From summer market kid to cornerstone vendor, Rob Foreman’s journey with the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market has come full circle.

Rob first came to the market in the 1980s with his father, who grew cucumbers for Bick’s Pickles. Even while away at university, Rob returned each summer to sell cucumbers. By the 1990s, he was growing full-time, and soon partnered with a neighbouring Mennonite farm to expand his offerings. That one partnership grew into something much bigger.

Today, Rob’s stand—100 Mile Produce—sources from over 12 local farms in Huron County, plus produce from the Mennonite and Amish communities.

What truly sets Rob apart is his deep connection with the farming families around him. He’s more than a vendor—he’s a neighbour, a friend, and sometimes even a mailman. His commitment to “hyper-local” is more than a name—most of the produce he offers comes from within just 27km of his home.

Rob’s story is a beautiful reminder that the food on our tables is the result of countless relationships, early mornings, and a whole lot of heart.

Thank you, Rob, for your passion, partnerships, and the farm-fresh connections you’ve cultivated for our community.
