David and Maria Brito came to Canada in 1979 with a passion for baking and a dream of building something lasting. After opening Bread King and joining the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market in 1983, they quickly became a beloved part of the market community.
Their son Richard grew up among fellow vendors and market-goers, helping build a reputation for quality and care. In 2004, the family took over a retiring vendor’s green sausage trailer—and the rest is history.

Today, the Brito family is best known for their delicious sausage on a bun, a must-have for regulars and first-timers alike. Their green trailer is a fixture of the outdoor market and a symbol of the lasting relationships they’ve built over 42 years.
Thank you to the Brito family for your dedication and heart—you truly are a legacy.
