Some vendors become part of the fabric of the market—and Sarah and Marty of EES Sales are exactly that.

Their story started in the 1980s with Sarah’s family, who were among just five original retail vendors at the time. When the Saturday Market launched in 1984, Sarah and Marty—then just dating—joined forces and took on the market together.

Since then, they’ve become a constant presence, showing up year-round with dedication and heart. How dedicated, you ask? Sarah once worked an entire market day while in labour with their second child. That’s commitment!

For Sarah and Marty, the market’s consistency through life’s ups and downs is what’s kept them coming back. They've watched vendor families grow alongside their own, and have created a life where work feels like community.

As Sarah put it best—when you spend a third of your life at work, you want to enjoy it. And for them, 99% of it has been just that.
