Since 1981, Kosem Farms has been a proud part of the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market—back when there were no buildings, just a few vendor families and the early morning sun.
At just 16 years old, Miriam would arrive at the market with her father as early as 4:30am to claim a good spot. While much has changed since those days, Miriam’s loyalty to the market and her community has never wavered.

To Miriam, farming is an art. From spring pruning to peach picking, every step matters. Just like her father, she warmly shares her knowledge with anyone curious about growing their own fruit trees.

Now joined by her husband Eric, the Kosem family continues to bring fresh, hand-grown fruit—and generations of wisdom—to market each week. And don’t worry—Miriam says she plans to keep coming until she’s 80!
Thank you, Kosem Farms, for 43 years of dedication, heart, and harvest.
