The Patrikas family has been a part of the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market since 1987—but if you ask them, they’ll likely mark the timeline with a smile and say, “Rebecca was born on a Market day in 1988.” Angelo was outside selling leather goods when the call came through—his third daughter was on the way! That moment is now a treasured part of their market legacy.

Yiota and Angelo started with Yiota Leathers, offering quality leather and fur products in the outdoor market. Not long after, their passion for food and heritage inspired them to open A Taste of Greece in Peddler’s Village. With Yiota’s treasured family recipes and Angelo’s original souvlaki marinade (still a secret!), they’ve been serving up authentic Greek flavours ever since.
Their guiding principle is simple: provide great service, be honest, and offer something you’re proud of. "If you're honest and have a good product, people will keep coming back," says Angelo—and they have, year after year.

Over time, the market became more than a workplace—it became a second home. Their daughters, Stella, Irene, and Rebecca, were raised among vendors and visitors, forming lifelong friendships and becoming part of the Market family.

Their newest venture, Olive Divine, features a hand-selected line of Greek olive oils and balsamic vinegars infused with herbs and garlic using Yiota’s own recipes—continuing their tradition of quality, authenticity, and heart.

Thank you, Patrikas family, for sharing your culture, your craft, and your community spirit with the market for nearly 40 years.
